During the month of July, Buncombe County will be collecting items to give our troops overseas a great Christmas gift!

You can drop off items through July 31st at any Buncombe County Library, and they’ll be boxed up and sent to our brave troops all around the world…just in time for Christmas!

There are lots of items the troops can use…toothpaste, Kool-Aid, books, cards and letters of support…little things that make them feel special and remembered while we’re home with our families at Christmas.

By now, you’re used to the up and downs of our technological issues…and, once again, we have no podcast for you today.

And, once again, we would like to ask for your help!

If you have a family member or friend serving in any branch of the United States Military, stationed overseas or stateside, we’d like to lift them – and you…their families and friends – in prayer.

Monday through Friday mornings at 6:55am, all summer long, we’ll announce the name of a service man or woman and ask that you join us in praying for them and their families and friends.

If you have someone you’d like to add to the list of service personnel, send us an email with their name, branch of the military, where they’re from and where they’re stationed: mattandheather@1069thelight.org.

If you like, and to make it easy, you can even reply to this post and we’ll get the names from your comment!
